Before you order

Four short things worth knowing before you pick your numbers.

  • We size the opening, you size the leg

    Give us the leg’s own measurements. The slack that lets it slide in is already built into the opening, so anything you add on top just leaves it rattling.

  • A riser is taller than its lift

    The leg drops about 2" into the socket, so a 3" lift is a riser standing roughly 5". Worth picturing against a baseboard, a rug edge or a low shelf before you choose.

  • Heavy pieces want thicker walls

    Standard suits chairs, desks and side tables. Beds, sofas, dressers and appliances load a corner far harder, so add extra strength and tell us the weight. Anything raised also tips more easily — no climbing, no dropping into a seat.

  • Keep them indoors and out of the sun

    Direct sunlight, unheated garages, damp basements and patios all work against the material over time. Somewhere dry at room temperature keeps a set solid for years.

Measuring, step by step

Grab a tape measure and something to write on. You need two numbers per leg, and the whole job takes about as long as making coffee.

Nothing is pulled off a shelf. Every set is printed after you order, to the numbers you give us.

    Find the widest point

    Legs flare, taper and round off on the way down. Look for the widest part of the section that will actually sit inside the riser, and hold a finger there.

  2. 02

    Take width and depth

    Two measurements at that mark: across, then front to back. A round leg only needs one — the diameter.

  3. 03

    Write the numbers down as they are

    No padding, no rounding up. The room a leg needs to slide in is already in the opening, and adding your own on top is what causes a wobble.

  4. 04

    Check the other three

    Furniture is rarely identical corner to corner, especially anything with some age on it. Measure all four legs and build to the biggest.

  5. 05

    Choose your lift

    How much height do you want to gain? If it’s for storage, measure the box you plan to slide under and pick that. The riser itself stands about 2" taller than the lift.

  6. 06

    Flag anything unusual

    Casters, angled legs, a foot that flares wider than the leg above it. Upload a photo in the configurator and tell us — better a question now than the wrong set on your doorstep.

Questions, answered

How do I measure my furniture legs for risers?

Measure the width and depth of the leg at its widest point — the part that will actually sit inside the riser, not the tapered tip. Enter those numbers exactly and don't add clearance: we build the tolerance into the opening so the fit is snug. Measure all four legs, since older furniture is rarely identical corner to corner, and build to the largest one.

What sizes can I order?

Base openings run from .5×.5" up to 6×6", and every base pairs with a lift from 1" to 7" — 49 combinations in all. Enter your exact leg measurements in the configurator and we build to those numbers.

How tall is the riser itself?

Taller than the lift, because the leg seats about 2" down inside it. A 2" lift is roughly a 4" riser, a 5" lift roughly 7". The lift is the height your furniture gains; the extra is the socket the leg sits in.

How strong are these furniture risers?

Standard risers are built for everyday furniture such as chairs, desks and side tables. For heavier or top-heavy pieces, add extra strength for $10 — thicker walls and more internal support. Tell us what the furniture weighs in the configurator and we build to it. Raising furniture changes its center of gravity, so avoid shock loads such as dropping into a seat or children climbing on a raised piece.

When should I add extra strength?

Add it for anything heavy or top-heavy — bed frames, sofas, dressers, cabinets, washers and dryers — and for taller lifts, where the leverage on a riser is greater. It's $10 for the set and gives you thicker walls with more internal support. The configurator suggests it automatically when you choose one of those furniture types.

What colors are available?

Black, White, Gray, Brown, Silver and Beige. If you need a color we don't list, tick “I want a color that isn't listed” in the configurator and describe it — that's a $15 add-on.

Are risers sold in sets?

Yes. Every order is a set of four, priced per set. Use the quantity selector if you need more than one set.

How long does it take to make and ship my risers?

Everything is made to order, and processing takes 7–10 business days before your set ships.

Can you make round, L-shaped or triangular risers?

Round is a standard option, in straight or tapered. For L-shaped, triangular or anything else, choose Custom shape in the configurator and describe what you need — that's a $20 add-on because it's drawn by hand.

What if my legs are round?

Choose one of the round shapes and measure the widest diameter of the leg. Enter it as-is — no clearance to add, since the tolerance is already built into the opening. If the leg is round but the foot flares out, measure the widest part that will sit inside the riser.
